Our response to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

We are taking a phased approach to our return to face-to-face service delivery as coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions ease in Western Australia.

We are following advice from the State and Federal Governments and providing updates to our customers and partners as things change. During this time, the health and safety of our community is our priority. If you have concerns we encourage you to contact your Key Worker or therapy team. Service Delivery

On 8 June the following changes came into effect:

  • All Therapy Focus offices reopened for business as usual
  • Face-to-face therapy sessions are available for customers choosing to access services this way
  • Therapy groups recommenced


Customers may choose to continue accessing services online or over the phone via teletherapy, or access a mix of face-to-face and teletherapy sessions. For example, you might choose to see you physiotherapist in person and your speech pathologist via teletherapy. Contact your Key Worker to discuss what will work best for you.

Please note that if you became a customer between 18 March – 13 June your therapist may not work within your local area. If you would like to transition from teletherapy to face-to-face therapy we can work with you to match your needs to a therapist in your local area. This may mean a change in therapist/s over a transition period.

What we are doing

As your therapy partner, we have put the following measures in place to protect the health and safety of our community, and prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  • We are strictly following advice provided by the Department of Health regarding hygiene and infection control. This includes disinfecting work spaces regularly, washing hands frequently and avoiding sharing stationery and kitchen items.
  • We are regularly checking in with customers regarding their health, particularly before any face-to-face sessions and appointments.
  • We are adhering to physical distancing rules and limiting physical contact where possible during therapy sessions.
  • We are regularly communicating with our school and community partners and will notify customers if there are any changes to our ability to provide therapy at schools and in other community locations.

Our therapists are well equipped to support customers and families who are experiencing any challenges or anxiety relating to Coronavirus.  If you need support please contact your Key Worker or therapy team. The Australian Government Department of Health has advised that people must do the following to help slow the spread of Coronavirus in Australia:

If you have a confirmed case, you must isolate yourself to stop the virus spreading to other people.

The Australian Government’s Department of Health website provides up-to-date information about COVID-19. This includes advice on how to protect yourself and your family, as well as symptoms to look for and when to get tested.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) website also provides information about COVID-19 in easy English and other languages. There is also helpful advice for NDIS participants and people living with disability more broadly.

The Australian Government has launched a Disability Information Helpline for people with disability, their families, carers, support workers and services who need assistance.
