Therapy Focus Board welcomes new Directors

By Tessa Harding

Brand Engagement Manager

The Therapy Focus Board is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Directors Julianne Adams and Matthew Felton, who bring unique perspectives to their roles as people living with disability.

Board Chair Fiona Payne said “These appointments reflect our intention to ensure our Board has the right mix of skills and experience to steward the organisation successfully. We are delighted that Julianne and Matt will help shape the next stage of our journey.”

Julianne is an occupational therapist with extensive clinical expertise. Her current work focuses on complex injury and disease management within the compensable system and consulting for regulatory and insurance agencies. This work is informed by Julianne’s experience in the injury management and insurance sectors, acquired through roles in stakeholder engagement, policy and strategy development with statutory authorities. It is enhanced by her collaborative approach, communication and leadership skills, analytical approach and public speaking experience.

Outside of work Julianne is a two-time Paralympian, competing in wheelchair basketball at all levels and an athlete representative in disability sporting bodies. Julianne appreciates the unrealised potential of people with disability to be meaningfully engaged in society and valued contributors.  This fuels her drive to influence environmental and systemic change and empower people with disability to achieve their goals.

Matthew is an accomplished para-athlete having represented Australia in Para Marathon World Championship and World Cup events and holding three national para records.

In 2018, Matthew was awarded a 40under40 award in recognition of his unique business acumen and forward-thinking attitude. He believes in enriching the lives of those living in pain or with disability and sees Therapy Focus as an integral part of delivering this to the wider community.
