Experiences of neurodiversity affirming psychology

La Trobe University researchers are interested in learning about the experiences Autistic adults receive when seeing a neurodiversity affirming psychologist. It is hoped this research will improve understanding and better inform how well practices support Autistic communication, expressive styles, environmental and sensory needs.

This research is led by a neurodiverse team, with supervision from Dr Melissa Gilbert and A/Prof Josephine Barbaro.

Who can participate in this study?

If you live in Australia, are 18+, have either been diagnosed or identify as Autistic, and have had at least 1 appointment with a neurodiversity affirming psychologist in the past 2 years.

What are the benefits?

The research will help to develop a better understanding of what works for neurodivergent clients in psychological therapy and best practice in neurodiversity affirming psychological care.

How do I sign up?

Participants will be asked to complete a 45 minute online survey.
