Teenagers & Young Adults

Support for teenagers and young adults with disability as they enter their adult years.

Navigating the journey together

Typical adolescence involves developing a sense of identity, establishing relationships and gaining independence. But for teenagers with disability, appearance, medical conditions, physical and learning challenges can make them feel different to their peers. Leaving school and entering adulthood is a big step for anyone, but for youth with disability and their families it can be particularly daunting.

We work to make these key life transitions positive experiences by helping teenagers and young adults with disability navigate challenges, explore their options and participate in the activities that bring joy and purpose.

How we can help

We offer comprehensive therapy services for teenagers with Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual, neurological and physical disabilities. Our experienced therapists work collaboratively to help teenagers with disability achieve their goals and live their best life.

Our services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual and can be provided at home, school, in our clinics, in community settings and online via teletherapy.

Our therapists not only work with the person who has a disability, they also collaborate with the key people in their life. This includes family, carers, educators and other health professionals. We work to empower these people by providing practical advice and strategies that they can use in everyday life, routines and experiences.

Our services include support for:

  • Developing social skills and relationships
  • Increasing independence
  • Daily living skills (e.g. routines and chores)
  • Sensory and emotional regulation (e.g. managing emotions)
  • Communication
  • Mobility and movement (e.g. fine/gross motor skills, coordination, fitness)
  • Self-care (e.g. toileting, washing, hygiene)
  • Community access and participation
  • Post school options
