Life in Remote Australia: Siblings of Those with Neurodevelopmental Conditions

Curtin University’s research team is exploring the wellbeing, needs and experiences of the siblings of Individuals with a Neurodevelopmental Condition in Regional and Remote Australia. Ultimately, this study aims to provide the opportunity for siblings to voice their experience and add to the knowledge of current research.

Who can participate in this study?

• Have a sibling with a Neurodevelopmental condition (for example, Down syndrome, autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, etc.)
• Are aged 16-30 years old, and
• Are currently living, or have previously lived, in a regional or remote area of Australia

What are the benefits?

Participants in this research will have the opportunity to share their unique experiences, contributing valuable insights into what it’s like to be a sibling of someone with a neurodevelopmental condition in remote and regional Australia. This input will help expand the understanding of these experiences and aid in developing better support and resources for families in similar situations.

How do I sign up?

The study involves an online questionnaire with 43 questions. Participants are asked to answer by either ticking the appropriate boxes or typing their responses in the provided fields. The questionnaire requires only one submission and will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.
