CEO Update: Spring 2024
We are nearing the end of Djilba (First Spring), a transitional time of year.
It brings pleasant warmer days and is considered a season of conception. You might notice yellow and cream flowering plants blooming, such as the Acacias.
As an organisation, we continue to navigate the evolving landscape of recent NDIS reforms and transition, however needed, to best support our customers in their therapy journey. We understand that changes can bring both challenges and opportunities. Our dedicated team is working hard to stay ahead of these changes, ensuring we remain well-positioned for the future.
Therapy Focus is being assessed to the NDIS Practice Standards on 11-13 November 2024. The assessment involves an evaluation of our systems and processes conducted by an independent auditing body approved by the NDIS Commission. The purpose of the assessment is to help continue to improve the services we offer our customers. As part of this process, we invite our customers to share their experiences. This is an invaluable opportunity to help us continuously improve.
Our First Focus open day held on Friday, 13 September was a chance to tour our lovely therapy space and hear from our therapists about the school readiness program. The program is going from strength to strength and is supporting countless children through immediate access to early childhood intervention. I would like to extend our thanks to Telethon and the Stan Perron Charitable Foundation for making the program possible. As Term 3 comes to a close, we’re eager to kick off the Term 4 intake very soon.
In late July, Therapy Focus came together to celebrate the exceptional achievements of our staff with the presentation of our 2024 Staff Awards. This year we expanded the awards to include an additional opportunity to recognise the amazing achievements and dedication of our staff. Congratulations to all award winners and nominees.
Recently, Therapy Focus celebrated Speech Pathology Week (25 – 31 August) and World Physiotherapy Day (8 September). These occasions provide us with the opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the incredible work of our therapists. As a multidisciplinary therapy provider, we take pride in the collaboration and expertise of our team to support your journey.
Therapy Focus prioritises wellness and mental health within our workplace. On R U OK? Day, we welcomed a yellow dress code to brighten up the day and hosted a morning tea, alongside a charm-making activity to foster conversations and connection with colleagues. Given the importance of mental health, it’s a crucial reminder of just how valuable a check-in with colleagues, friends and family can be.
Enjoy the warmer weather and sunshine with your family, friends and loved ones. The two-week spring school holidays are going to be filled with the amazing Perth sunshine.
