Free program to improve physical activity for Autistic adults

Help Curtin University’s research team explore better programs to support Autistic adults in becoming more physically active. Ultimately, this study aims to provide a 12-week personalised physical activity program for the individual and their supporter, online and in person.

Who can participate in this study?

  • Autistic adults aged 18 or older.
  • A chosen adult supporter (family member, carer, friend, mentor, or trainer) aged 18 or older.

What’s involved?

  • 12-Week Program: Engage in a personalised physical activity promotion intervention with your supporter.
  • Workshops & Support: Attend an online workshop, receive live online support in planning and participating in your chosen physical activity, and receive personalised advice and reminders via WhatsApp.
  • Activity Tracking: Wear a Fitbit and an advanced accelerometer (SENS) to monitor your physical activity and sedentary behaviour.
  • Regular Check-ins: Reflect on your progress with researchers through online and face-to-face meetings every two weeks.
  • Three face-to-face visits to Curtin University.
