We are all unique in how we communicate and we communicate in many different ways. This can include using words, signs, songs, writing, gestures, and pictures/symbols.

This board is one of a few installed throughout the City of Busselton. It has been created to support people who may have difficulty communicating. It aims to provide more opportunities to experience the learning and joy that comes with successful communication and interaction in the community.

Using the Communication Boards

Wait and give your friend a chance to communicate their message.
Respond straight away when your friend tries to communicate.
This could look like talking about the pictures, pointing to the pictures or gestures.
