Community Cinema donation exceeds expectations
Therapy Focus has been awarded $90,000 in proceeds from the 2014-15 McDonald’s Community Cinemas season at a Charity Partners Presentation Ceremony held on Wednesday 7 October.
Therapy Focus was one of 10 charitable organisations to receive part proceeds from the record $808,139 raised in the cinema’s 14th season. The results were a welcome surprise given the challenging weather conditions experienced throughout the season.
Run completely by volunteers, McDonald’s Community Cinemas is Perth’s largest outdoor cinema and proudly donates 100% of profits from each season to a small number of WA charities who work to improve the quality of life for children in a health or physical ability crisis.
Therapy Focus Communications and Partnerships Manager, Tessa Leschen, proudly accepted the cheque on behalf of Therapy Focus, thanking McDonald’s Community Cinemas for their generous donation.
The proceeds will be contributed to Therapy Focus’ Grant for Inclusion, Value and Equality (GIVE) Program, which assists with the purchase of equipment, activities, resources and additional supports for individuals and families accessing Therapy Focus services.
Therapy Focus is excited to continue as a Charity Partner in the upcoming 2015-16 season and is currently recruiting volunteers. People interested in volunteering can contact Events & Fundraising Coordinator, Megan Davis, (08) 9478 9500 or email email@example.com.
