Aids & Equipment
We prescribe, source funding and assist with the purchase of aids and equipment for people with disabilities and their families.
How we can help
As part of service our therapists help determine what equipment and aids an individual needs. Therapists can apply for funding assistance on your behalf and our Equipment Team can order and pay for items.
Items we can prescribe and source can include:
- Wheelchairs and walkers
- Hoists and slings
- Personal hygiene equipment
- Specialised seating and associated accessories
- Postural supports
- Communication devices
- Assistive technology
- Therapeutic sensory equipment
- Modified bicycles and sporting equipment
- Play equipment
A major source of funding assistance is the WA State Government’s Community Aids and Equipment Program (CAEP). CAEP funds basic and essential equipment for mobility and essential activities within the home. If an item is not covered within the CAEP basic and essential guidelines, our therapists can apply directly to charitable organisations and grant providers as an alternative.
Therapy Focus also administers its own charitable program, the GIVE Program, which individuals and families accessing Therapy Focus services can apply to for funding assistance.
If you are eligible for National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding our therapists can recommend suitable equipment to your NDIS / WA NDIS Coordinator.
Our service is flexible and tailored to the needs of each individual, their family and carers.
